A Real Asset to the Project

"at the forefront of introducing the agile approach" ... Owen was [contracted] to a major new system project at Dynamic Controls at a time when we desperately sought clear direction and a way to move forward. He used his Systems Engineering experience to get the project underway by facilitating key strategic decisions on the new architecture. He challenged the norm and was at the forefront of introducing the agile approach for the system development. As [Principal Systems Engineer], he was able to challenge waste and redundancy, and his strong lean advocacy led to major software quality initiatives being introduced. His broad range of technical, interpersonal and business skills made him a real asset to the project.

SympleSoftware Becomes Lean Systems

posted 4 Oct 2010 12:25 by Owen Woollaston   [ updated 5 Oct 2010 01:15 ]

After a lot of soul-searching (and years of procrastinating) Symple Ltd. (aka SympleSoftware) is no more.

In February 2010 the company name was changed to Lean Systems Ltd. to reflect the integration of agile practices into our approach to embedded systems and software engineering.

With the somewhat belated approval of the trademark (Lean Systems, with Lean over a sticky-note) I am finally able to publish our website under the new banner.  A tip for young players: IPONZ took over 6 months to approve the trademark, so don't make any assumptions of urgency with this government department!

Not the least of which we are glad to be done with that awful spelling mistake - Symple with a 'y'.
